Down the Nissequogue
Follow the river from the mill pond to the Sound.
The Nissequogue is Smithtown's spine: it rises at Stump Pond, goes tidal at the Route 25 bend, and empties into Long Island Sound under the Kings Park Bluff. Trace it north — nature center raptors, two beaches, and the long view from the bluff where the river lets go. Car plus short walks; bring binoculars if you have them.
The stops
Riverbank team photo where the freshwater ends and the tide takes over. Point dramatically downstream — that's where you're headed.
Photo with any resident animal ambassador or the butterfly house. Donations keep the raptors fed — the jar counts as a stop task.
Build or find something photo-worthy in driftwood at the spit. Best sculpture on the leaderboard gets the glory.

The former state hospital grounds — Building 93 looming over the trees. Shoot it from the marked park paths ONLY; the ruins photograph better from outside anyway, and trespassing forfeits the hunt.
